Full-Scale Operation of Northern Gyeonggi Intellectual Property Center

The Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) announced on 7 March that they will commence their full-scale operation of the Northern Gyeonggi Intellectual Property Center. The newly opening Northern Gyeonggi IP Center will focus on an integrated consulting service for patent information in order to strengthen the patent capacity of regional small and mid-sized companies. This service targets small and mid-sized companies located in northern Gyeonggi area, proposing directions for R&D and providing systematic and analytical patent information to the companies.
The center plans on activating businesses that are suitable for regional characteristics by composing and supplying patent technology maps regarding different industries that are growing in Gyeonggi-do. The opening of the Northern Gyeonggi IP Center means that KIPO now has 31 regional IP centers in South Korea.
